The annual parish Barbecue took place on Saturday 22nd August. After an afternoon of hot sunshine with rumbles of thunder from every direction and a very heavy shower, the evening turned out to be warm, still and clear. It is an opportunity for the parish and friends from other churches in Melbourne to get together for an evening and has come to be regarded as an annual summer treat.
The burgers and sausages are obtained from our local Melbourne village butcher, Wayne Spiers, and are always admired for their flavour. Puddings are provided by parishioners and always offer a huge variety of delicious cakes, trifles and the like.
Parishioners set up the event and also become barbecue chefs for the evening. Everyone had a good time and thanks to everyone who contributed to making the evening a success.
